Carter # 154, Pattern 1937 web belt frog for carrying the Pattern 1907 or No. 4 bayonet.  Light Khaki color. This is the typical WW II web frog used by the British Army.

First #154 variant described by Carter: 1 1/2 inches (38 mm) wide with 1 1/4 inch (32 mm) upper loop and 1 1/2 inch (38 mm) lower loop.

This example was made by the Blackman Leather Goods Co. Ltd.

No. 5, Pattern 1937 Belt Frog

Carter #171 olive green, Bayonet Frog No. 5 Webbing Equipment Pattern 1937.  Used for carrying the many varieties of postwar British and Commonwealth bayonets.  This example came on a South African R1 bayonet for the FN FAL assault rifle.

Frog measures 8 inches (200 mm) long by 1 3/8 inches (35 mm) wide.

This belt frog was made in 1956 by the Mills Equipment Company. AA2016"  is the stores catalogue number.  AA was always used for webbing. (Ref. notes from correspondence with Anthony Carter.)

This frog is a hybrid between the No. 5 and No. 6 Pattern 1937 belt frogs, not documented by Carter.  It has the two 1 1/4 inch (32 mm) wide scabbard loops of the No. 5, but has no eyelet or hilt strap as were eliminated in the No. 6.

Frog measures 8 inches (200 mm) long by 1 1/4 inches (32 mm) wide.
