Knife bayonet for use on the 8mm. Czech VZ-24 Mauser rifle.  These bayonets were made in large numbers for export during the 1930s, including a large number for Romania.

This bayonet bears both the Romanian "CM" marking and the Romanian-format serial number used with their VZ-24 rifles.  It was originally made in Czechoslovakia, with the metal in the white.  It was subsequently reworked in Romania, where it was blued and the grips replaced. The CM acceptance mark indicates that the rework was done at the Copsa Mica arsenal in Cugir.
