Knife bayonet made under contract in Belgium for use on the 27,000 Mauser M1871/84 repeating rifles Venezuela acquired from German Army stocks in 1900.
This is the modified version, with the hooked quillion removed. These bayonets are very finely crafted, with the metal left in the white. The scabbard is blued. This example is in exceptional condition, with hardly a scratch. Just beautiful.

Sword bayonet for use on the Saive Automatique, Fabrique Nationale (SAFN) Modèle 1949 self-loading rifle produced by FN for Venezuela in the 1950s.
The four-digit serial number is characteristic of the Venezuelan FN-49 rifles.
