M1949 |
Rod bayonet that stows in forestock of the 7.5 mm. M1949 self-loading rifle. This bayonet is identical to the French M1936.
Approximately 6,000 rifles were manufactured in France by Manufacture D'Armes St. Etienne (MAS). This example was made in 1953. M1949 rifles made for the French Army had no provision for a bayonet (an oversight which was remedied with the M1949/56 version). |
